Stereotypes
You think were weak. “All we can do is put makeup on our faces and twirl around in our pretty dresses.” We do love makeup and dresses don’t get me wrong, but there is so much more to us than just makeup and pretty dresses. We love to work. Some of us love sports. Some of us want to be engineers or even the next president of the Unites States of America.
Just because I am a girl doesn’t mean I have to do pushups from my knees. Just because I am a girl doesn’t mean I value style over substance. Girls are strong, powerful, and smart. We are doing incredible things every day. It's not fair to say girls aren't as strong as boys or we can't do something because we can. Everyday society limits girls.
Everyday girls are breaking records. Simone Bile’s just took home four gold medals and one
bronze (not bad for her first Olympics)! A ten year old girl just beat the national sit-up record by doing 2,110 sit-ups in a row for 90 minutes straight. This shows everyone that girls can accomplish anything if we put our minds to it. I am very proud to be a girl. Everyday girls are breaking records and showing people that girls can do anything that guys can do.
